False dreams and bogus schemes

Here are links to Biweekly Commentaries focused on misguided attempts to coerce benefits.

Desperately trying to stay relevant
The leaders of these groups say they represent the interests of black Americans, yet it seems increasingly clear that their lives rarely touch the lives of those they claim to speak for and, in many cases, that they never move outside their own cloistered, out-of-touch activist circles.

Praise instead of rebuke
Let's get real for a moment and talk about that "change" the hip-hop generation has brought to America. Thanks to the hip-hop generation, we have seen the lifestyle of thugs, gangstas and pimps elevated to cult hero status. A colleague of mine said that when his son visited Mexico, Mexicans thought he was either a rapper or a drug dealer, courtesy of black America's hip-hop culture.

Liberated from Jackson
Not only were there fewer captured CEOs in attendance, there was no Donald Trump, no Alan Greenspan, and no Secretary of the Treasury -- all of whom have made appearances in previous years. In fact, the attendance of such big fish acted as a form of intimidation to smaller fish, who felt obligated to pay up and show up.

What is wrong with these people?
This high street theater proved crazier than most, as the whites made spectacles of themselves, playing the part of slaves -- wearing handcuffs and chained to one another, with yokes about their necks. With T-shirts reading, "So Sorry," the whites acknowledged their "guilt" for slavery. The blacks wore armbands with the message, "Forgiver," as they drove forth their human cargo.

A different kind of set aside
By now it is a given that the black masses were misguided by agenda-driven black and white liberals to put all their efforts into the crusade for "civil rights." In so doing, the critical task of achieving genuine economic independence not only was cast aside, but disparaged as the obsession of Uncle Toms and the peons of Booker T. Washington. Those blacks who understood the folly of institutionalizing a permanent dependence on government and on the largesse of whites, and warned of an inevitable bleak future, were quickly turned into non-persons and cited for disloyalty to The Cause.

J.P. Morgan meets the reparations crusaders
Black activists in Chicago have acquired enough political clout to prevent a company from doing business with the city, if its officials do not first file a statement attesting to said company's past involvement in any aspect of slave commerce, or lack thereof. If the slightest hint of a company's lineage can be traced even as far back as the 16th or 17th centuries, no matter how many times a company has changed hands or merged with other businesses, today's current management will be held accountable.

Checking those ties to slavery
The extortion continues. Groups of blacks are busy all across the land tailoring their reparations schemes to the specific political framework of cities and towns.

The Reparations racket is still with us
Reparations leaders have decided to make city governments the targets of their demands, and are dunning city councils to produce proclamations containing a promise that the respective city will take up the issue of reparations.

Beating the bushes for racism
Thanks to reams of "civil rights" laws, the NAACP also plays another role -- as a job-getting agency for black elites. Such people target certain jobs held by whites, then use an NAACP branch to declare a company or institution "insufficiently integrated," so they can head for the courts.
